INstagram Reel Teasers

This project features two Instagram reels designed to showcase my shadowbox illustration work in a dynamic, engaging format. Instead of presenting still images, I created motion-based previews that reveal the creative process step by step and highlight the finished piece through animation and rhythm. These videos served as both process demonstrations and motion graphics experiments, showing how illustration can come to life in short-form media.

Context:

Static illustration posts often struggle to fully communicate process and impact.
I wanted to create motion-based teasers that showcased my work in a more engaging way.
Needed to balance clarity of illustration steps with cinematic presentation.
Rhythm and timing were crucial to keep the reels immersive and in sync with the music.

Approach

Sole creator of all footage, editing, motion, and final assembly.
Captured process imagery, from sketches to finished illustration.
Used After Effects for motion graphics and animation, and Final Cut Pro for editing and timing.
Selected type, transitions, and pacing to align with the chosen audio tracks.

Process:

Structured each reel to reveal the illustration step by step, from sketch to final design.
Synced cuts and transitions to the rhythm of the chosen music for added impact.
Used animation techniques to give elements depth and motion, creating short, engaging previews of my work.
